Our wedding continued

I remember seeing so many loving faces in the crowd - most so familiar to me. People that traveled from near and far to be there. I could hear the locust and the water and loved seeing Dan smiling and al decked out at the end of the isle. Rick did such a great job with the ceremony. He had us look around and remember what we saw. He was funny and sweet and everything could not have gone better. After the sand ceremony and exchanging rings and vows, we were pronounced husband and wife and could finally kiss. Hall and Oates "Because Your Kiss is on My List" played and everyone beamed - most of all us who managed to pull this whole thing off in just a few weeks with a lot of help from a lot of people. And that was that. We walked hand-in-hand back down the "isle" and then quite frankly were not quite sure what to do since we didn't have any type of rehearsal. I have always heard how quickly the day goes by - and it did but mostly I just wished there was more time to spend talking to everyone. It was a beautiful evening and dinner was set out just after our ceremony. We took some group photos down by the bay and then mingled and did our best to see everyone. I liked how laid back and fairly simple it was. Many commented on the sweetness of the day and how perfect it was. The rest of the night was a little bit of a blur. We cut the cake and fed little bites nicely to each other. Some folks started leaving around that time needing to get back to Ocean City or Richmond or other places. There was definitely a late night crew assembled in the kitchen and one outside as well. It was great to see everyone enjoying themselves. I love saying my husband and have started the whole name change process which isn't so fun but its not so horrible either. The day after the wedding, we had a wonderful brunch hosted by Dan's parents and most of the family and a few friends (Christina, Heather and Suzy) joined. Sunday afternoon the house quieted and we were able to sit back and enjoy and talk about the past 24 hours and how smoothly it all went. We sat in our chairs overlooking the water and soaked up a little bit of the sun. We took advantage of the house that we had until Monday and heated up leftovers from Blue Rooster and took our plates out to the dock to eat and watch the sunset.
