Are we ready for some football?

It's finally here. The day that we've all been waiting for. And by "we" I mean Dan and all of the other South Carolina fans. I have been nervous of how this will impact our pretty wonderful, lovely life but I've decided to just embrace and enjoy it and see how that goes. With football season comes some cool weekend trips and bourbon season from what I understand so it can't all be bad, right?

Makenna starts pre-school tomorrow. Kind of. She will only be there for a few hours a week but I am excited for her and this new little phase in her life.
The other night she proclaimed: I am not a toy when she was called baby doll Seriously!? So smart and cute.

I've had my nanny hat on this week - trying to make as much money as I can before our European adventure. Although I am going to try to not think about conversion rates and stuff that I can't figure out anyway :) It is just around the corner and starting to feel so real. I started packing today adapters, meds, random things that I haven't thought about in too long. I am so very thankful for this opportunity. I hope that I am able to capture the very best photos on such a special day for one of my very best friends. I think that we are going to have such an amazing time in both countries.

Hung jury in Hawaii. We found out earlier this week. I am filled with mixed emotions. I can understand how hard it would be to be in that spot and have to make that call but I just wish the whole thing was over and behind them now. Instead, it seems that there will be another trial next summer. At least they are home for the time being.

I'm working very hard to practice Mindfulness and all of these other wonderful ways that I am reading about. Sending peace, love and light out to the world.

Birthday week!

I am one lucky girl.
Birthday festivities kicked off Friday night and lasted through Monday. They were wonderful and partially a blur but I totally felt the love. Friday after a crazy night at BA - and I mean totally crazy - I met Dan in Eldersburg for drinks and treats. He bought me a fishing rod and a new wireless digital camera that I have had my eye on (not to mention all of the accessories to go along with it including a 32 GB memory card! wowzers). We had a nice leisurely Saturday morning and then headed into Hampden to explore and lunch. Next stop was his parents house where we hung for the next few hours over cocktails. Kristen and Bob invited us to join them on the beach at Bay Ridge and so we grabbed our roadies and rain gear and headed to watch the sunset and bonfire down there. It was a lovely night and great catching up with them. After Kristen and I singing our hearts out to as many Chicago songs as possible, Dan and I went to Davis' for a night cap before crashing on the boat. The next morning we took a walk in Quiet Waters and discovered an awesome little coffee shop that also happens to be a dog grooming spot and has awesome cards. I had my first marina shower and it wasn't as bad as I anticipated. The crowd at Black Ankle completely blew me away! So many of my lovely people came out for a picture perfect day of delicious vino and to nosh. Shout out to:

It meant a lot to me and was so much fun. Here's to another wonderful year
